Privacy policy

At Pugh’s Garden Village we take the privacy of our customers seriously. This privacy policy explains what data we collect from you as a Garden Club Member or for the use of online booking services for events, plus any over the phone payments taken by staff members within the store and what we do with that data. The Company is committed to being transparent about how it collects and uses that data and to meeting its data protection obligations in line with general data protection regulations (May 2018).

Data we capture and store

Garden Club Email Database – We love to keep our customers engaged and up to date with the goings on in the Pugh’s Garden Village world. To become a member of our Garden Club we either collect email addresses via our website or general marketing surveys, social media competitions, in store forms and event bookings. Consent is required where you as the customer would need to ‘opt in’ and provide your consent to your email address details being added to our mailing list. All of these email addresses are stored securely on our password protected server and are imported into Mail Chimp which is an email marketing platform. This data is protected and requires authorised login details to access. As a member of our Garden Club database you would receive no more than 12 general email newsletters per year and 12 event newsletters per year. You are able to opt out at any time by unsubscribing on the email itself or contacting us directly. The email address will then be removed from our database.

For those who have filled out our Garden Club Sign up forms in store, the details are transferred to a document on our secure server and then the forms themselves are stored in a locked environment where they are kept for a period of time before being shredded securely and disposed of in our private and confidential waste.

Event Bookings Online

When you purchase our events online, we keep a record of that transaction. We do not store details of credit cards used to purchase our events – those are securely processed through PayPal who handle our merchant services.

Credit Card Payments in store

When a card is used at till point no details are stored during any transaction. Our terminals are used via a secure server network. With regards to orders taken over the phone, only authorised personnel can carry out these transactions without you as a customer being present if consent is provided. All details taken are shredded and disposed of in a secure manor as soon as the transaction is processed.

Address Details for Deliveries

We obtain address details for deliveries, a copy is kept on file in a secure environment for our records and subsequent copies are shredded and disposed of once the delivery has been made.

 

Your personal data is never shared with any other business and is kept purely for Pugh’s Marketing and to carry out customer communications. Any other personal data such as addresses for delivery of products is kept in a secure area for the time period required and then destroyed via shredding once no longer needed. Credit Card details are never retained and are also destroyed in a safe and secure manor.
