Full Time Permanent Chef (Radyr)

Do you have a passion for food and looking to work for a thriving family business? We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and hardworking qualified Chef to join our team, full time in our Watering Can Coffee Shop in Pugh's Garden Centre in Radyr.

Sociable day time hours | 5:30pm finish daily | Up to £12 per hour

Our ideal candidate is a creative professional with a passion for food, who is willing to participate in creating delicious seasonal menus and meal designs in a long established, thriving family run business.

You should have excellent communication skills with proven experience and an in-depth knowledge of several cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and processes and a creative mind.

Your duties will include:

Assist with the preparation and planning of meal designs.
Ensure that kitchen activities operate in a timely manner.
Resolve customer problems and concerns personally.
Monitor and record inventory, and if necessary, order new supplies.
Provide support to junior kitchen employees with various tasks including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
Adhere to and implement sanitation regulations and safety regulations.

Person Requirements:

A creative flair with ingredients and passion for food
An ability to stay calm in high-pressure situations
First rate culinary skills
Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
Teamwork-oriented with outstanding leadership abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to provide references

Desired qualification/experience:

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
Health and safety and food hygiene certificates level 2, we will upskill to level 3 post probationary period.
